MUMBAI: Four foreign companies have come up to give a modern look to Taraporewala aquarium situated at Girgaon choupaty in south Mumbai, on the lines of Singapore aquarium.
    
Minister for Fisheries Anees Ahmed said on Thursday that four companies including Eden from Malyasia, Hawper from Singapore and two branches of Oceanis from Austarlia have qualified expression of interests.
    
He said the fisheries department is also demanding FSI of 3.5 from the State Government to have a tunnel shape structure for the aquarium. The aquarium can be seen from inside the tunnel, he added.
   
The total cost of the project is expected to be Rs 200 crore, Ahmed said.
   
The department has also kept an option of Worli dairy land near seaface for the aquarium if permission is not granted for extra FSI.
