After her enchanting moves in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Shveta Salve has never looked back. And now, its time for her to scale yet another height: the actress has just finished her film Bhanvra with which she is making her big screen debut.
“I am lucky that Dharmesh Darshan chose me for his film, and the film is just on the verge of release. I am really excited and looking forward to my launch,” she says.
Shveta is playing a sassy character in the movie and the character goes through a transformation as the movie progresses.
“I have got to portray two different characters in the film. It’s all about the rebellious nature that you have in your youth,” she adds.
What about the film being lifted from Hollywood movie Closer? “I don’t think so. I can’t divulge the story right now, but I know that our movie is not a remake of Closer,” she says.
Shveta will be out of the small screen for quite sometime. Is there any plan to do any TV shows still? “I would always be thankful to a show like Jhalak... which has been one of the highlights of my career. I owe a lot to the show which gave me such a good platform to show my skills. For the moment, I am very busy with my film and not doing any TV show. I have been away from the small screen for a long time now,” she adds.
If not daily soaps, is she game for any other dance shows? “If I am not doing a daily soap, that doesn’t mean that I should do a dance show. I don’t see any logic in that.”
But there are a lot of actors like Prachi Desai who are doing dance shows even when their movies are releasing.
“I don’t want to comment on that. I am just not doing any show for the moment,” she says.
Any other movies in the pipeline? “I am considering a few projects. But, I am not
allowed to talk about them right now,” she adds.
