Veteran character actor Pankaj Kapur will be seen in an international film after 15 years. The film titled Good Sharma is Kapur’s second Hollywood film since he first acted in The Burning Season in 1993.

Directed by Suri Krishnamma, Good Sharma is a US production about an Indian lawyer who travels to America for fame and money but unfortunately lands up being a taxi driver in New York. The film revolves around his desires, his plights and his decision to go back to his village and build a school for girls. Kapur plays a negative character called ‘Hanuman’, who becomes the antagonist of the film. The movie also has Dalip Tahil who plays the role of Sharma, the protagonist.

Kapur says: “Yes, I’m doing Good Sharma. I liked the role and I readily signed the film.”

But why did he choose to stay away from Hollywood and decide to star again in an international film after such a long gap 15 years?

“I liked the script and I really don’t choose roles looking at the language. I choose roles that are good. I don’t like people telling me that I am doing a Hollywood film. I think I’m just doing a film. Films have no language,” he adds. Kapur is one of India’s most acclaimed film, television and stage actor and is placed on the same platform of respect as the other gifted character actors like Om Puri and Naseeruddin Shah.
