Akali Dal leader accused of rape

MOGA: Punjab police on Friday registered a case against Piara Singh newly elected member panchayat belonging to Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on alleged charge of committing a rape a girl of 17 years of his neighbourhood.
   
Police got the victim girl medically examined on Thursday.
   
Police said that the mother of victim of Dhilwan Wala village under the Baghapurana Sub division alleged that the accused in her absence when her girl was all alone in the house entered and committed the crime last evening and before excaping threatened the victim  of dire consequences if she reported the matter to her mother or the the police.
   
When the mother arrived in the house, her daughter narrated the story.
