KOZHIKODE: Two teachers were injured when suspected Youth Congress activists attacked a school at Nadapuram near here on Saturday as part of their ongoing agitation against the Government, seeking immediate withdrawal of the `controversial' seventh standard social studies textbook, police said.

A group of Youth Congress volunteers reportedly forced their way into the school, where teachers were participating in a `cluster' (training programme), the sources said.

Volunteers of Youth Congress, its students wing, KSU, Muslim Youth League and its students outfit, Muslim Students Federation also disrupted the programmes at Payyoli, Vatakara and some other places in the district, they said.

Youth Congress and KSU activists have been staging demonstrations over the issue all over the state, alleging that the textbook 'glorifies Communist ideology'.

Meanwhile, members of the Kerala State Teachers association took out a march in the city in protest against the incidents and sought action against those involved in the attacks.
