CBI claims compounder Krishna knows about murder weapon

NEW DELHI: A breakthrough in the much-talked-about Aarushi murder probe is finally in sight as the CBI told a court on Tuesday that Krishna, the compounder of Rajesh Talwar, knew about the murder weapon and the missing mobile phones.
The confessions of Krishna were submitted in the Ghaziabad court by the agency after it demanded a 11-day remand for him. Though the court agreed that the agency should interrogate Krishna, it only agreed to a six-day remand.

Even as the agency inched closer to solving the biggest murder mystery of the year, it is still to find the motive of the crime and maintains Rajesh Talwar is one of the suspects in the double murder.

It took the CBI over a month to get some clues about the people involved in the double murder of Aarushi and domestic help Hemraj.

The sleuths have told the court that Hemraj had asked Krishna to arrange for a kukri on May 14 and the compounder was present at the residence of the Talwars on the night of May 15 when both Aarushi and Hemraj were murdered.

“We have submitted the confessional statements of Krishna in the court and it will help us solve the case,” CBI joint director Arun Kumar said.

Sources said Krishna had been giving false details of the murder weapon till now but they were sure he knew where the weapon was.

“We recovered a kukri during one of the searches but we are not sure if it was used to commit the crime. We have sent the weapon for a forensic examination,” Kumar said.

Aarushi, a 14-year-old student of DPS Noida, was found murdered by her parents on the morning of May 16.
