Shilpa on her walkout from Dill Mill Gaye

Shilpa Anand, the sister of actor Saakshi Shivanand, who shot to fame with a cola commercial with Aamir Khan (Tusi great ho) and was last seen as the lead in this movie Iqraar-By Chance, has now walked out of the romantic daily soap Dill Mill Gaye. She has been replaced by Sukirti Kandpal who currently plays the role of tennis-player Saakshi in the serial Jersey No 10. What made Shilpa, who was playing the popular cardinal character Dr Ridhima in the serial, quit so abruptly? 

After a brief pause, she explains, “Actually, I decided not to renew my one-year contract because I wanted to shift my focus towards other things. Shooting rigorously for this TV show throughout the week and that too at a distant location took its toll on me. It restrained my personal growth. At the same time, I have moved out amicably giving the production guys two months’ notice. On the flip side, working in Dil Mill.. was like joining an acting training academy which helped me hone my acting skills.”

She adds, “Currently I have taken a brief break and I am busy gymming and doing yoga.”
