Rashmi Hemrajani suggests a few unusual ways of proposing to your girlfriend
Get it on the radio:
All the radio stations will have ‘love shows’ running all through the day. So, just call up the radio station which she usually listens to and express your feelings on the airwaves. A word of caution here — proposing on the radio requires guts and also a bit of tact. You should make sure that she is reminded (by a common friend, may be?) to tune in to the show.
Organise a treasure hunt:
Yes, this would remind you of school. Proposing her through a treasure hunt would be unexpected and so much fun! How to do it? Send her a text message about a dinner date.
Mention the time, but only give clues about the place where you want to meet her. She will get curious and ask you more questions. Let the curiosity linger on till, for instance, when she’s at the restaurant. Then, send a waiter along with a bouquet of flowers, with a hint (again!) guiding her to the table. Let the whole evening be full of surprises.
Put out an ad:
Place an ad in a newspaper (the one she reads) along with a picture of yours and in bold, big front size write down a message for her. Dude, be terribly sure about your feelings for her because it’s not only her, but also her family, friends and relatives who would see the ad.
Work out with her:
It may sound strange, but it’s true. When a girl is exercising, she is an affirmative mood. Don’t wait till she finishes the work out. Propose to her when she is on the treadmill or the cycle. Not when she is doing weights — you don’t want the weights banged on your head, right?
Kneel down on a table top:
Push a few drinks down your throat before this bold act. Take her out to a club. Request the DJ to play her favourite track, jump on the table top, sing along a bit. Towards the end of the song, bend on your knees and pop the question. At that moment, you would be the centre of the universe, not only for her but the other guests
as well.
Record a song for her:
Creativity enhances love. Write a poem for her. Even a five-line poem would add a twinkle in her eyes. If that is too much to ask for, then pick up any song and record it in your voice along with the track. Then send it over to her.
