We have done our job, time to pray: Sehwag

NEW DELHI: Delhi Daredevils captain Virender Sehwag said the team had done their job after beating Mumbai Indians here on Saturday in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match and now was the time to pray for a semi-final berth.

"We have done our job. We had to win this match and we did that. The rest is not in our hands. We can only pray that other results go our way and we reach the last four," Sehwag told reporters.

"The middle order clicked at the right time. Dinesh Karthik played a fabulous innings and he was supported well by Manoj Tiwary and Farvez Maharoof," Sehwag said.

Daredevils, Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, placed third, fourth and fifth respectively in the IPL standings, are fighting for two semifinal spots with the top two teams, Rajasthan Royal and Kings XI Punjab, already making the cut.

Man of the Match Dinesh Karthik said he was happy to help his team win the crucial game.

"I know that 'whenever god gives, he gives in plenty'. It was a total team effort. My partnership with Tiwary and Maharoof came good. We were on the hunt and we just wanted a few boundaries."

Sehwag was also all praise for Maharoof.

"He is a class player and he has played in these situations. I always want to send him in these crunch moments because he can hit few big shots."

Mumbai Indians batsmen Robin Uthappa said they hope to come back and reach the semi-finals.

"We lost first four matches but then came back to win six. We have lost two close matches on trot. We know we played well in these matches and hope things will fall in place in last two games.
