Teenager raped by landlord in Delhi

NEW DELHI: A teenaged girl has been raped, allegedly by her landlord in north-east Delhi, police said on Wednesday.

The incident took place in Seelampur on Tuesday night. The victim stays with her father as a tenant in the house of one Nafis, 25.

He allegedly pulled the victim into his room when she woke up in the night to use the common bathroom and raped her, the police said, adding that he even threatened the victim with dire consequences if she revealed the rape to anyone.

She informed her father about the incident on Wednesday morning. The father then approached the police, who took her to a nearby hospital for medical examination. The tests confirmed rape, the police said.

Accused Nafis is absconding and a hunt is on to nab him.
