VIJAYWADA: Protesting an acid attack on one of their colleagues, the members of the Vijaywada Bar Association on Thursday boycotted work at the courts to express solidarity for injured lawyer V Srinivasa Reddy.
    
Reddy received serious burn injuries on his face in an acid attack at his office at Kasturbaipeta on Tuesday.
    
Reddy, a practicing lawyer and member of the State bar Council was allegedly attacked by one Venkateswara Rao alias George, who suddenly entered his office and sprinkled the acid on the lawyer.
    
Later, Reddy was rushed to a nearby private hospital with serious wounds in his eyes following which he was referred to the Shankar Netralaya in Chennai.
    
The examinations last night revealed that the lawyer had damaged his right eye in the attack.
    
He has also been undergoing treatment at the Apollo hospital for wounds on his face, bar association sources said.
    
Meanwhile, the state committee of the All India Lawyer's Union condemned the attack.
