MUMBAI: Under-19 cricketer who was part of the Indian World Cup-winning team in Malaysia, Iqbal Abdulla on Sunday said he would like to send his parents for Haj pilgrimage before spending any money from the cash award the Cricket Board has given him.

"The first thing I want to do is to send my parents for Haj before I spend (the money) on myself. They have supported me all this while and what I am today is because of them. I play my cricket keeping them (my family) in mind and now I have to support them," Abdulla said.

Not hailing from a financially sound background, Iqbal sprang into the limelight when he ran through Haryana's batting line-up with a five-wicket haul in a Twenty20 game. But more than that, he cherishes the wicket of former Indian skipper Rahul Dravid.

"I got Dravid out. I was really happy about the dismissal," said Abdulla, who was the most economical Indian bowler in Kuala Lumpur during the World Cup bagging 10 wickets at an economy rate of 3.71.

The orthodox left-arm spinner added that the World Cup win in Malaysia was a proud moment for him and he will not look back from here on.

"It was a very proud moment for us there. We had only one thing in mind and that was to win the match (final against South Africa) despite our low score of 159 runs.

"We knew that if on this wicket we get to bowl second we could get them (South Africa) out cheaply and win the match. That's what happened. I felt honoured by the welcome we received on arrival. I am only going to move ahead from here," said the bowler.
