DELHI/MUMBAI: Till barely three months ago, Ishant Sharma would never have dreamt of moving out of his modest flat in Delhi’s Patel Nagar.

Today, the 19-year-old fast bowler, who had Ricky Ponting flummoxed in Australia, can think of moving to a plush place in the Capital.

The Indian Premier League bid made him richer by nearly Rs4 crore. Add the Rs58 lakh BCCI prize money after the Aussie tour as well as the match fees and young Ishant Sharma has the most valuable zeroes in his bank account.

“We do want to move on to a better place. But all these plans will be made only after elaborate talks with Ishant,” his father Vijay Kumar Sharma said.

Ditto for his more experienced Delhi colleague Virendra Sehwag, fondly called the Najafgarh boy who made it big.

Well, this address is soon going to be passé. Sehwag has bought a huge three-storeyed house in upscale Hauz Khas for, hold your breath, a whopping Rs 6 crore.

While homes are priority for some, for the likes of Sreesanth, life is in the fast lane. The Kochi speedster has decided to go in for a white Porsche with a Rs95 lakh price tag.

Rohit Sharma, who played such a vital role in the first final with his 66, would much rather go in for a Merc. He had recently bought himself a Skoda Laura after a stint with a Honda City.

Harbhajan Singh, the man who had to bear the brunt of the Australian crowd and media for months, is going for a Hummer. So is his coolheaded skipper, Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The roads of Jallandhar and Ranchi are going to be something else!

There is yet another cricketer who along with his boys brought honour to the country. Skipper of the victorious under-19 team, which won the World Cup, Virat Kohli is going in for a Honda City.

The BCCI had announced a cash prize of Rs15 lakh to each of the young lads and to Kohli, nothing like a set of wheels to get the adrenaline pumping! GenNext sure has its priorities right.
