Doctor Horror offered Rs 10 million bribe to Nepal Police

KATHMANDU: Dr Amit Kumar, the alleged kidney racket kingpin, offered a bribe of Rs 10 million to the Nepal Police to evade arrest after he was nabbed in the Himalayan Nation last week, media reports said.
  
According to the police sources, 'Doctor Horror' tried to grease the palms of cops by offering Rs 10 million and assured to send more money after reaching India.
  
"We could easily evade arrest in India after providing some thousands of rupees to the police. Get 10 millions now and I'll send more as I reach India," police quoted Dr Amit as saying while he was being taken to the District Police Office.
  
Sub-inspector Raju Sharma, who arrested Dr Amit, along with Sub-inspector Chima Bahadur Tamang and constable Milan Gurung, said that Dr Amit urged them to take all the money he had and free him.
  
"When I tried to handcuff him, he offered 10 million rupees to be set free," sub inspector Tamang is quoted as saying.
  
According to sub inspector Sharma, Dr Amit claimed he was not arrested in Haryana since he bribed the police force. He had spoken to the police while he was driven about 20 kilometres from the resort of Sauraha to Bharatpur, the district headquarters of Chitwan district.
  
"When we were driving through the forest, he asked us to take the dollars he had," added Sharma.
  
"The Nepalese government can do nothing about the kidney case. But they can proceed forward with the case of foreign currency," Sharma quoted Dr Kumar as saying.
  
The kidney racket kingpin was arrested on Febrary 7, however, his brother escaped the arrest as he could speak fluent Nepali and no one suspected him.
