BMC razes TV anchor’s office

MUMBAI: The BMC on Friday demolished the office of TV anchor Roshan Abbas at Lakshmi industrial estate, Andheri. The BMC had planned demolition of around 25 structures in the estate as they were unauthorised. “There are around 100 illegal structures in the area, but paperwork of only 25 was cleared.

At first there was some resistance from the occupants, but later they let the demolition be completed peacefully,” said Milind Shambharkar, deputy municipal commissioner, special.

Seven structures were demolished, while the rest will be demolished on Monday amidst police protection, Shambharkar said.
