Several girls were raped, coerced and sent to please influentials

AHMEDABAD: It was not just one rape victim in Patan. Several girls were raped by the clique that committed gangrapes for years on several batches of PTC students. The revelations made by the 18-year-old Dalit girl have further pointed that many of her class-mates, juniors and seniors were actually raped and coerced into an organised sex racket which had politicians, authorities and many an influential locals as its clients.

The revelations made by the rape victim at the Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad over the past 24 hours point to much more gory and horrifying tale than a repeated gangrape. The girls were told by their seniors and the faculty members in the PTC college to “get used to it”. The girls were coerced, lured and finally trapped by the seven accused and many others whose names are not yet public. “The victim said some were raped and some were coerced into it and later trapped by the teachers. They were then taken out of the campus to other places. Several big gun politicians appear to be involved in the racket,” said a source close to the victim.
