We are Indians first: Priya Dutt

MUMBAI: All India Congress Secretary and Lok Sabha member from Mumbai North-West Priya Dutt on Monday appealed to people not to think of regional biases and create divide in the country.

In a statement, Dutt said, ''If a girl's school has been started in Uttar Pradesh, then we have to understand that Uttar Pradesh is also a part of India, as is Maharashtra. This school will benefit the girls of our country.''

''Let us not negate a positive action which has happened. This kind of violence and instigation should be condemned,'' she said.

''We are Indians first and then come our religions and castes,'' she added.
