Taslima wants to return to Kolkata

NEW DELHI: Controversial Bangladeshi author Taslima  Nasreen, who is being kept at an undisclosed location here, is desperate to return 'home' in Kolkata.
  
Talking over the phone, Taslima said 'Ami bari jete chai. Amar bari Kolkata (I want to go home in Kolkata)'.
  
Admitted to AIIMS for drug overdose and released on Wednesday, the author said she feels better though her blood pressure keeps fluctuating.
  
She said she was completely satisfied with the medical treatment provided here.
  
However, she added "I hope I were at home in Kolkata where I have many cardiologist friends. I am sure their presence would have helped me recover faster. I miss home and my friends."
  
On August 9 last year, she was assaulted at the Hyderabad Press Club by MLAs and supporters of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen party.
  
Islamic leaders demanded her expulsion from India following which she was forced to leave Kolkata and seek refuge in New Delhi.
  
Violence erupted in Kolkata in November last year as members of  the All India Minority Forum protested against granting of visa to the Bangladeshi feminist writer. She was subsequently shifted to Jaipur and later to New Delhi and since then is being kept at an undisclosed location here.
