It is Sena’s social duty

Anil Parab has taken  the right step towards the party’s social responsibility. There is no politics behind his campaign.

Though Shiv Sena is a political party, it has always given preference to social issues right from its formation. We feel that it is our social duty to avoid untoward incidents like rape, molestation or any type of physical and psychological abuse.

In today’s globalisation era, more and more women are stepping outside home. You may call it as need of the time. But it is the time when we should think seriously over the security of working women. We have seen in the past that every time a female BPO employee was raped or murdered, the concerned company tried to pass bucks to the government or the police.

They simply point fingers towards government and the police for their inability to protect women. We must understand that the inadequate police force can’t control the situation all the time.

They have certain limitations. That is why there has to be a system to help the police and keep an eye on the anti-social elements. I am happy that Parab has taken the initiative.

Though Parab’s campaign is limited to check the driver’s and vehicle’s condition, it is just a beginning. This should be looked in a positive manner.

It should be remembered that a taxi driver was the culprit in the Bangalore rape and murder case of a BPO employee. Similar was the case in the rape and murder of a female BPO staffer in Pune.

It is correct to start the campaign from the drivers. As the time will progress, some pros and cons of the campaign will emerge out. At that time, we can take a review of it and suggest some other measures to make it successful.
