Sources say the singer had a tiff with organisers of a show at Jodhpur before leaving for Mumbai

Mystery continues to shroud the Sunday night attack on upcoming singer Toshi Sabir, 23. While the singer on Tuesday admitted having had a tiff with a customer in an Andheri bar, Toshi said he had no enemies in or outside the city.

In his police statement taken on Tuesday, the only scuffle a bandaged Toshi could remember having in Mumbai was one that involved his friend-cum-singer Raza. “It was while we both worked in Shruti Bar and Restaurant in Andheri in November-December 2006 that a customer began abusing Raza and, I hit him in a fit of anger,” said Toshi.

However, he added that the matter was settled in the bar itself and he never felt threatened thereafter.

Meanwhile, police sources revealed that the singer had a tiff with the show organisers in Jodhpur from where he had returned on Sunday. However, Toshi refused to speak about it and complained of a sudden headache after which the doctors advised the police to stop the questioning.

Talking of his female friend, Preet Surendra Kaur, 21, who was accompanying him at the time of the attack, Toshi said she had seen him on the television and liked him very much. “We began chatting on the Internet and then talking over the phone, after which we got very close.”

The Mumbai police are now planning to summon the organisers of the show in Jodhpur.  They also plan to question the staff and owner of the Shruti Bar and Restaurant.
