Teen ‘kidnaps’ school mate for insulting his girlfriend

A teenager, infuriated by his friend, who posted lewd comments about his girlfriend and mother on the popular social networking website Orkut, allegedly kidnapped the friend and kept him confined for over 20 hours,  said an official of the Sion police station.

The police informed that Gaurav Shetty, 23, son of KR Shetty, owner of a restaurant
in Sion, was arrested along with his friends — Gaurav Solanki, Sushant and Jassi - on charges of kidnapping Nakul Kanu.

Kanu was on Sunday evening shoved into a car at Sion and driven around Matunga,
Dadar and Dharavi, while the accused rained punches on him. Later on, he was dumped near Sion railway station.

Kanu went to the police station to lodge a formal complaint against his friends.
The accused will be produced in Kurla court for remand on Tuesday. All the accused have been booked under IPC Section 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 324 (Voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 342 (Punishment for wrongful Confinement), 365 (Kidnapping or abducting with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine person) and 34 (common intention).

“The accused and the victim are known to each  other. They studied in the same school at Sion,” said a police official from Sion  police station.
