SHIMLA: The BJP on Wednesday said the party and the Prem Kumar Dhumal Government in Himachal Pradesh will march together to make it a model state.

"There will be perfect coordination between the Government and the party and we will march together to make HP a model state", state BJP President Jairam Thakur said.

The previous Congress regime in the state had been often criticised for the absence of coordination between the Government and the party.

There is a plan to constitute a coordination committee comprising members of the Government as well as the party for better delivery of goods to the common man, the state BJP chief said.

"We have achieved our target of coming to power on our own and now the next target is to do good work and win the trust of the people so that the BJP Government returns to power after five years", Thakur said.

Asked if he would not like to become a minister in Prem Kumar Dhumal government, Thakur, who won from Chachiot for the third time, said, party high command will decide the issue. He, however, added that he favoured 'one man one post' principle.

Seeking to deny that MLAs considered close to Shanta Kumar were posing difficulties in the formation of the state cabinet, Thakur said he had no knowledge of this.

Seven pro-Shanta Kumar MLAs are camping in Delhi reportedly to put pressure on the party high command for their induction into Prem Kumar Dhumal's cabinet.
