MUMBAI: The BJP victory in Gujarat would lead to greater stability and cohesiveness in the UPA at the Centre and there was no question of mid-term polls, NCP chief Sharad Pawar said on Monday.

He told PTI that the election verdict was not unexpected as Chief Minister Narendra Modi succeeded in raising communal temperature.

Pawar said despite this there has been improvement in electoral fortunes of the secular parties through increased vote shares and seats.

Ruling out mid-term polls, the Union Agriculture Minister said the saffron victory would further unite the UPA and there will be no problems in the alliance.
