MUMBAI: Stock market on Monday lost over Rs 3,00,000-crore invested wealth amid a second biggest single-day fall of 769 points on its benchmark Sensex.

The total investors' wealth, measured in terms of cumulative market capitalisation of all the listed companies, dropped to Rs 65,65,338 crore at the end of today's trading. It stood at Rs 68,66,534 crore as on Friday, the last trading day.

Monday's fall of 769 points in the BSE 30-share barometer index is the second highest after 826-point fall registered on May 18, 2006.

The marketmen attributed today's plunge mostly to the weak global cues as well as profit booking after the recent rally.
