NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has congratulated India's first Formula One driver Narain Karthikeyan for winning the Feature Race in A1GP in China, saying he has set an example for the entire motorsports fraternity of the country to follow.
   
Applauding Karthikeyan's victory, the Prime Minister said "he is a true representative of India’s young spirit."
   
Dr Singh said Karthikeyan had set set an example for the entire motorsports fraternity of the country to follow. 
   
Karthikeyan's victory created motor racing history as Team India grabbed their first ever victory in A1GP World Cup of Motorsports after winning the Feature Race in China yesterday.
  
Karthikeyan recorded a time of 1:08:30.759 to finish 0.502  seconds ahead of Jonny Reid of New Zealand.
  
With this victory, India became the 14th nation to win in the A1GP.
