KOLKATA: India's doubles ace Mahesh Bhupathi, currently recovering from a back surgery, is yet to take a call on playing the upcoming Chennai and Australian Open tournaments.

"I am taking things (monitoring recovery) week by week. I am practising daily and as soon as I feel OK, I will decide," 33-year-old Bhupathi said here.

The winner of 41 ATP doubles titles, Bhupathi underwent surgery in October in Melbourne to cure a recurrent back pain which forced him to pull out of the Mumbai Open last September.

Bhupathi, who has a doubles ranking of 21, will partner Mark Knowles of the Bahamas next year.

Asked if he would partner Leander Paes in the Beijing Olympics, Bhupathi said, "It is scheduled for August. We will think about it in July."

Bhupathi sidestepped a query on the recent row over the country's number one women's tennis star Sania Mirza's ad shoot at the historic Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad.

"What has happened? That's nothing," he said dismissively.
