MUMBAI: Before the tournament began, we were the underdogs and we still consider ourselves to be underdogs.

However, we are a well-knit side with players of virtually equal status. And we have former Sri Lanka captain Marvan Atapattu leading them. Your cannot predict anything in Twenty20 cricket.

Two overs can change the complex of the game.

We are now pitted against a good team — Mumbai Champs — which is being led by the great Brian Lara. Though Lara could not produce his form in the last two matches he played in the ongoing Indian Cricket League, on his day the West Indian can be unstoppable.

As we are playing as one unit, having the backing of each player, Delhi Jets are all set for the big flight. We do not have any specific strategy against any one team.

However, our plan is to fight hard in each match. Captain Atapattu, wicketkeeper Paul Nixon and JP Yadav are guiding and controlling the boys intelligently in every game. I encourage them from the sidelines to give their best while in the middle. There is no use talking about individual performances once the match is over. We are not using laptops, but head-top.

Seventeen-year-old Ali Murtaza from Allahabad has already displayed his skills as he got a dream start by taking the wicket of former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul Haq, who is leading Hyderabad Heroes. What a way to start a young career by taking the scalp of Inzamam, by bowling him! In my opinion, Ali Murtaza is a clever bowler.

Mumbai Champs have lost both their matches but they still have three more matches. No one can perfectly predict which of these teams will qualify for the semifinals.

Mumbai have a strong side with Lara, Nathan Astle and several promising youngsters in the line-up. It’s a good mix of youth and experience and I am sure they will do well in the upcoming matches.
