NEW DELHI: The ghost of Nandigram continues to haunt the CPI(M). On a day when five graves were discovered in the region, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee continued her efforts to get the Centre to intervene into the matter. On Thursday, she met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the home minister to demand that a Central team led by Shivraj Patil visit the area and judge for itself.

The mercurial Mamata is also slated to meet UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Saturday and leader of the opposition LK Advani on Friday as part of her campaign to build opinion on the issue. The Prime Minister reportedly told Mamata that “all that is permissible under the Constitution will be done”.
