PANCHKULA: An inspiring innings of 74 runs from just 48 balls by former Pakistan opener Imran Farhat saw Chandigarh Lions beat Hyderabad Heroes by six wickets in their match in the Indian Cricket League (ICL) Twenty-20 championship here Wednesday evening.

Fireworks burst over the skies above the Tau Devi Lal sports complex cricket stadium as Chandigarh Lions batsman Chetan Sharma finished his team's chase of 135 runs set by the Inzamam-ul-Haq-led Heroes with a huge six.

But the man of the moment for the Lions was Farhat who made the highest score of the championship Wednesday.

The Heroes won the toss and elected to bat but their batsmen, with the exception of Anirudh Singh (39), could not put up a good show.

Chandigarh Lions - 137 runs for 4 wickets in 16.2 overs, Imran Farhat 74 runs from 48 balls.
