BEIJING: About 30 people were feared dead after a bus in which they were traveling was crushed by a landslide in central China, state media reported.
 
Rescuers launched a search operation for the bus after the company owning it reported the vehicle was missing on Tuesday but found no signs of life.
 
Twenty seven passengers, two drivers and a ticket seller were aboard the bus, official Xinhua news agency said quoting a bus company official.
 
The bus, on its way back from Shanghai was found in the rubble of the landslide, which also killed one worker and injured another, at a railway tunnel construction site in Badong county of western Hubei Province. Two more workers were reported missing.
 
The landslide left rubble on a National Highway, connecting Shanghai and Tibet Autonomous Region, the report said.
