The Khar police are on the lookout for a 20-year old man who had allegedly stolen ornaments, mobile phones and cash amounting to Rs40,000 from the office of bollywood star Sushmita Sen.

The person has been identified as Gajanan Hari Pardeshi, resident of Takdi village, Jamner Taluka in Jalgaon district.

According to the police, the incident occurred on November 10. The following day, Neelam Chandani, 42, also a staffer working in Tantra Entertainment Private Ltd office of Sen, situated in the Palatial Building in Bandra (W), discovered that two Nokia handsets, two diamond earrings and cash were missing from the office.

Wasting no time, she registered a complaint with the Khar police. An official from Khar police station said, “Pardeshi was employed in Sen’s office through a job recruiting agency on October 27 and has been staying in the office as the office boy.”

The police found two addresses of Pardeshi, one in Jalgaon and the other, Pune. “We sent police teams to Jalgaon and Pune in search of Pardeshi but the police team returned empty-handed.

We have also informed the local police in Pune and Jalgaon to alert us if Pardeshi arrives there,” said senior police inspector Ajit Sawant of Khar police station.

Another police official added that Pardeshi had not visited Jalgaon and Pune after the crime. The police have registered a case of section 381 (which is theft committed by a domestic help) of the Indian Penal Code against Pardeshi.
