Sania still ranked 32nd in singles

NEW DELHI: India's Sania Mirza remains in the 32nd spot in singles in the latest Women's Tennis Association (WTA) rankings released Monday.

The Indian has 921 rating points in the rankings list, headed by Belgian Justine Henin with 6155 rating points.

Mirza's compatriot Sunitha Rao dropped one place to the 181st spot with 165 points.

Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova is second on the WTA list with 3725 points followed by Serbian Jelena Jankovic in third place with 3475 points.

Among other Indians, Leander Paes and his erstwhile partner Mahesh Bhupathi retained their places in the men's doubles rankings of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP).

Paes is joint 13th with partner Martin Damm of the Czech Republic, both having an indentical 2745 ranking points. Bhupathi is ranked 21st with 2210 points.

Paes and Damm have decided to end their two-year association at the end of this season. The Indian will team up with Australian Paul Hanley for 2008, while Damm's new partner will be fellow Czech Pavel Vizner.
