MIRZAPUR: Terming the Left's assurance of support to the UPA government despite its reservations over the Indo-US nuclear deal as 'something fishy', BJP said on Sunday this clearly indicates there is a lull before the storm.

"There is definitely something fishy. The people of the country are being cheated. The people owe an explanation from the Left and the prime minister (Manmohan Singh)," BJP president Rajnath Singh said here.

"The Left parties are a confused lot. Their stand on the nuclear deal was never honest," he claimed.

"Only the other day the Left was targeting the prime minister. What has happened now?" he asked.

"Perhaps it is a lull before the storm," he quipped.

CPI-M general secretary Prakash Karat had recently said that the Left parties would continue to support the UPA government through its full term.

On the imposition of emergency in Pakistan, Singh said Pervez Musharraf 'has now revealed his true face'.

"The mask is now off Musharraf's face," he said.

Singh also apprehended a spurt in terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of the country following the developments in Pakistan.
