BANGALORE: Concerned over the attempts by JDS rebels to stall government formation in the state, the BJP-JDS combine on Monday submitted letters of support by each of the MLAs to the Governor Rameshwar Thakur.

A delegation of BJP and JDS leaders today called on Thakur and handed over the letters.

The delegation, comprised BJP's state unit President DV Sadananda Gowda, his JDS counterpart Merajuddin Patel, former ministers HD Revanna (JDS) and Katta Subramanyam Naidu (BJP).

JDS and BJP spokesmen, YSV Datta and S Suresh Kumar respectively, were also present.

Sadananda Gowda said outside Raj Bhavan that they had submitted to the Governor individual affidavits from 79 BJP and 42 JDS MLAs pledging support to the new coalition government.

The delegation also requested Thakur to forward his recommendation to the Centre paving way for government formation, he said.

Gowda said both the parties will be parading their MLAs before the Governor to convince him of the combine's strength this evening.
