MUMBAI: Police on Monday arrested two persons, including her servant, in connection with the murder of aspiring actress Manisha Aggarwal inside her home in suburban Goregaon and claimed to have solved the case.

Sunil Jagdish Singh, the servant, suspected that Aggarwal kept a large quantity of valuables in her home and planned to kill her along with a friend from his native village in Bihar's Darbhanga district Amarji alias Bhola Vasudev Singh, police said.

"Aggarwal, who came from a humble background, was killed on April 11 by the two and all they were able to get was Rs 1,500 in cash and a gold ring which was sold for Rs 4,800," Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rakesh Maria said here.

Aggarwal, who had done modelling assignments and acted in some TV soaps, was killed by the duo who strangulated and hit her against the wall.

Originally from the suburb of Dombivali in Thane district, Aggarwal used to sell vegetables when she was spotted by lady who offered her a job in a beauty parlour. She went on to win a local beauty contest and then began getting offers to model and act, Maria said.
