MELBOURNE: S Sreesanth continues to irk the Australians and the media here claimed that the volatile Kerala speedster taunted Andrew Symonds in the fourth ODI at Chandigarh.

Even though he was not part of the playing eleven in Chandigarh, the sprightly pacer allegedly made remarks after Symonds got out and Australia's 12th man Stuart Clark had to intervene to broker peace, according to a report in the 'Sydney Morning Herald'.

The daily claimed that Sreesanth made 'several aggressive gestures' towards the Australian during their chase even though the batsmen ignored them.

Once Symonds got out, Sreesanth allegedly clapped in the Australian's face and followed it with 'a few choice words' triggering a confrontation and Clark had to separate both.

Sreesanth, however, denied provoking Symonds but admitted saying "Hard luck, you're going to lose."

"Sreesanth is understood to have approached Symonds in he narrow corridor linking the playing surface to the team dressing rooms, and Clark, in turn, reminded the Indian firebrand in no uncertain terms of his responsibilities as rinks man," the report said.

Even after the match was over, the row continued and officials had to pull Sreesanth away from some irate Australian cricketers, it added.

Indian team manager Lalchand Rajput, however, denied knowledge of any such incident.

"I am not aware of it. We have talked about his behaviour. He was told that he has been playing international cricket for long enough now that he should know what is right and wrong," he said.
