SIRSA: With the special CBI court granting interim bail to Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim in connection with the murder of two journalists and sexual exploitation of a woman, son of one of the slain scribes on Thursday expressed apprehension that the Dera head might try to influence witnesses in these cases if released on regular bail.

Anshul Chhattarpati, son of Sirsa-based scribe Ram Chander Chhattarpati, said that Singh might influence all the witnesses if granted regular bail by the court.

"The show of strength by the Dera followers today during Singh's appearance in a court in Ambala was nothing but only to influence the judicial system," Chhattarpati said in a statement here.

He alleged that the Dera head adopted similar "tactics" unsuccessfully to stall the handing over investigations to the CBI and also tried to delay the probe process.
