3 foreigners held with heroin in Delhi

Two Nigerians and one Afghani have been arrested on charges of drug peddling and heroin worth Rs. 40 million was seized from them.

NEW DELHI: Two Nigerians and an Afghanistan national have been arrested on charges of drug peddling and heroin worth Rs. 40 million in the international market was seized from them, the police said on Thursday.

"We have arrested three foreigners in the capital on charges of drug peddling late Wednesday," deputy commissioner of police (special cell) Alok Kumar said.

Kumar said Mohammed Shah, 20, an Afghanistan national was arrested when he came to supply the contraband to two Nigerians, Baba, 26, and Rasheed, 26, in Gokalpuri area of south Delhi. All three were arrested.

The police seized 3.670 kg of fine quality heroin from them.

"Shah in his interrogations revealed that he had come to the city from Kabul (Afghanistan) on one Taufiq's directions to supply drugs to the Nigerians," Kumar added.

He said the trio would be produced in a city court and their police remand will be sought for further investigation.
