NEW DELHI: The ideas floated by Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf to involve the Kashmir issue may go with him if he emerges weaker from the current political turmoil in his country, a member of the ruling party said on Friday.

"May be. Because you just don't know who the next leader would be," Kashmala Tariq, Member of National Assembly of Pakistan from ruling PML-Q said, replying to a question on whether Musharraf's ideas would receive a setback if he were to emerge weaker in the near future.

"I think it varies from leader to leader. It involves building a consensus. You have to take the parties onboard.

You have to go through foreign policy issues", she said here.

Backing another term for Musharraf, she said "I think Musharraf is a dynamic man. He has taken some bold decisions.

I think if he remains for another term, we might reach some point."

Tariq, who was recently chosen as the Chairperson of Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians in a conference held here, criticised the existing visa system.

"When we come here, we have to report to police. There is no such procedure in Pakistan. You feel really miserable.

Even important persons are harassed and being asked for bribe.

People go through a lot of inconvenience", she alleged.

"We would love to have free movement of people and goods like EU but you cannot just put Kashmir on backburner and move on," she said.
