Titan expects over 50 pc jump in turnover this fiscal

NEW DELHI: Tata group company Titan Industries on Thursday said it expects its retail network expansion and increased demand for lifestyle products to spur turnover by over 50 per cent during the current fiscal to more than Rs 3,200 crore.

The company is in the process of expanding its retail network and would add nearly 60 exclusive World of Titan (WoT) stores during the current fiscal. It also plans to consolidate its presence in the global market by foraying into Indonesia and Pakistan.
   
"We are planning to open 60 new WoT outlets by the end of this fiscal taking the number of the outlets to 285," the company's Managing Director Bhaskar Bhat told.
   
Currently, Titan has presence in 31 countries. "We are also planning to enter new markets like Pakistan and Indonesia," he added.
   
For the coming festive season apart from introducing new collations, Titan would ramp up its promotional campaigns.

It launched its new 'Heritage' collection of watches on Thursday inspired by the Indian architecture.

The heritage collection which is designed by Abhijit Bansod has nine themes inspired by the Konark, Ajanta, Taj Mahal, Jantar Mantar and other Indian architectures, Bhat said.
   
The collection, priced between Rs 3,750 and Rs 5,000, would be retailed through the WoT stores.

Titans last collection was the Aviator series, inspired by fighter aircrafts.
   
Titan watches, which control over 70 per cent of the organised retail market in the country, is planning to export one million watches by the end of this fiscal, Bhat added.
