AGRA: Uttar Pradesh police has apologized for the incident in which two Japanese women were raped here last week.
    
"We are ashamed of what happened with the Japanese tourists here last week," Vikram Singh, Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police, said inaugurating a tourist police station here that has come up within a record time of 24 hours after the incident.

These police stations have been set up at five tourist hotspots across the town, where Taj Mahal is situated.
   
"Tourists can lodge their complaints at these police stations and they will be investigated immediately. The police officials in this force will be at least graduates," he said.

Three persons were arrested on September 24 in connection with the rape of two Japanese women in a hotel in Agra.
