A 60-year-old passenger died aboard a London-Mumbai flight due to complications arising out of an ailment he was suffering from, airport authorities said.

MUMBAI: A 60-year-old passenger died aboard a London-Mumbai flight on Wednesday due to complications arising out of an ailment he was suffering from, airport authorities said.

Rajendra Desai, who boarded the Jet Airways flight from London to Mumbai, died aboard the flight while it was on its way to the city, a spokesperson for the Mumbai International Airport Limited said.
   
"Desai had boarded the flight with an oxygen tank and was suffering from pulmonary fibrosis. He developed some complications and despite attempts of a doctor who was on board, he passed away at around 0645 IST," the spokesperson said.
   
The flight landed at around 1045 IST following which airport authorities were informed of the incident and a case was registered at the Sahar police station.
