MUMBAI: Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who has been a perfect picture of cool and composure in the Twenty20 World Cup, on Wednesday confessed that he had feared Misbah-ul-Haq's now-infamous scoop might elude S Sreesanth.

Pakistan needed six runs off four balls in the last over, bowled by Joginder Sharma, when Misbah played that pre-meditated shot only to see the ball balloon up before nestling into Sreesanth's safe pair of hands at short fine leg.

Recalling the shot, Dhoni said, at one stage, he feared the ball might just land behind the fielder.

"When Misbah played that shot, my initial fear was that it might land just behind Sreesanth. So I was not looking on Sreesanth but my eyes were on his hands only, whether he manages to catch it," Dhoni said during the felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium.

Sreesanth has often been in thick of actions in the tournament, whether it's with a fiery spell or his temperament.

Asked if Sreesanth leaves him a bit tense, Dhoni quipped,"Not a bit, he makes me quite tense" before adding "But every team needs characters like him."
