BHOPAL: The BJP began its electoral campaign hoping to take an early lead if a parliamentary poll is held. The theme of the campaign would be Hindu pride vis-à-vis Congress' minority appeasement policy.

Opposition leader LK Advani said: “The government machinery is in a state of paralysis due to uncertainty created by the UPA self-destabilisation.

The people of India are eagerly waiting the BJP to lift the country once again from the morass created by the Congress. We have a national duty to rise to the occasion.” He was attending the concluding session of the BJP national executive meet in Bhopal on Sunday.

Advani said the party would also take up issues that concern the common man. “A government that has betrayed the aam aadmi has no right to continue in office,” he said.

He blasted the UPA for deriding the Hindu faith and asserted that a government that denies Ram’s existence has no right to exist. He listed the Left, the DMK and Sonia Gandhi as the three de-stabilisers of the government.
