Three school boys kidnap, murder 6-year-old

AHMEDABAD: Three school boys were arrested on Saturdayfor allegedly kidnapping and murdering a minor boy of their neighbourhood in Nava Wadaj area, police said.

The trio, all standard nine students of a Gujarati medium school, lived in the same residential colony as the vicitm, six-year-old Dhyey Khambhu, police said.

Preliminary probe revealed they had committed the crime to claim ransom money and seem to have been influenced by crime-related TV serials and movies, they said. However, no ransom call was made to the victim's house, police said.
   
The boys lured the victim using a chocolate and took him to the C-block of their colony, where they muffled his mouth using handkerchiefs, they added.

They would be sent to a juvenile home, police said.
