WARSAW: A risqué poster showing seven naked women holding only a placard saying 'Poland is a Woman - Women's Party' is turning heads ahead of the country's Oct 21 snap general election.

"Nothing to hide" - is one of the slogans coined by the party, created by successful Polish author Manuela Gretkowska, known for provocative prose.

"Dressed or naked we are not only sex objects," reads part of a manifesto on the party's website. "We are innocent and honest - we have clean hands, clean hearts and clean intentions."

The party, which promises to safeguard women's rights at home and in the workplace, has gained popular support among Polish movie and pop stars. It was established in reaction to the ultra-conservative, family-oriented policies created by Poland's conservative Catholic administration over the last two years.

However, a month ahead of the Oct 21 snap election, opinion polls show the Women's party is highly unlikely to surpass the five per cent threshold required to enter parliament.
