DHARAMSALA: Disappointed at South Africa's ouster from the Twenty20 cricket World Cup at the hands of India, fast bowler Dale Steyn said the team once again proved to be a 'choker'.

The South Africans, labelled chokers for faltering at the last moment, suffered a 37-run defeat to be knocked out of the tournament.

"It was an interesting match. India played well. But I don't know what went wrong with the South Africans," said Steyn, who is here to play in the second and final four-day match between South Africa A and its Indian counterparts.

"They have proved correct the label of chokers on them. But the new generation should do away with it," said the 24-year-old lanky paceman, who will next head to play Tests for the country against Pakistan.

Steyn did not play in the first match against India A as he had arrived late and could not be accommodated in the squad. He is yet to take the field here as captain Boeta Dippenaar elected to bat after winning the toss and play was been possible on day two and three due to rains.
