PM discharged from AIIMS

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who underwent a prostate surgery on Saturday, was discharged from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Tuesday evening.

Singh, 75, was admitted to AIIMS on Saturday for the surgery. The surgery -- a trans-urethral resection of the prostate gland -- was performed to treat benign enlargement of the gland.

After completing the post surgical tests, Singh was discharged by the hospital.

However, the Prime Minister would function from home for the next few days, PMO sources said.
