T20WC trophy: Another feather in Jaipur's cap

JAIPUR: India may or may not make it to the podium at the Twenty20 cricket World Cup, but it would certainly be a part of the big stage after the finals as the winners would be presented a Jaipur-made trophy.

The 12.5 kg trophy made by Amit Pabuwal is a fine piece of art and is the first and permanant trophy for this tournament.
   
Amit with his wife, co-designer Kiran Pabuwal, completed the trophy in only 15 days as per the ICC guidelines.
   
Amit was asked to make two identical trophies. While one is already in south africa, the other, displayed here on Wednesday, would be sent in next few days.

He said he was assigned the job after making the Indo-Pak friendship series trophy in Abu Dhabi.

Amit said the Twenty-20 trophy is made of silver and rodium and symbolised three aspects of game -- batting, bowling and fielding -- through three oval-shaped hallow intertwined tubes.

The trophy is 571 mm in height with a width of 16.5 cm at top.
