NEW DELHI: Optical storage devices maker Moser Baer would foray into IT peripherals market in the near future, aiming to corner a pie of the Rs 12,000-crore in the  PC peripheral industry. The company is expecting Rs 20 crore revenue from this segment.

The company, in partnership with Taiwan's Philips and Lite-On Digital Solutions, has already launched Optical Disk Drive (combo drive and DVD writer) Moser Baer-Lite-on.

"We will enter the complete PC peripherals market. We have already launched Lite-on... the company is expecting Rs 20 crore from this segment," Moser Baer Managing Director Deepak Puri told on the sidelines of Elcomp India 2007.

When asked about the products which the company would launch in this segment, he said, "everything".

Puri, however, declined to name the products. Other peripherals, however, may include keyboards, headsets, speakers and mice.

"The investment in operational expenditure would be about Rs 5 crore." he added.

He said we see a lot of potential and latent demand in the PC peripheral market in India.
